Bible Verses on HomeMakers

Psalms 113:9 He makes the barren woman to keep house, and to be a joyful mother of children. Praise ye the LORD.

Proverbs 14:1 Every wise woman buildeth her house: but the foolish plucked it down with her hands.

Proverbs 24:
3 Through wisdom is a house built; and by understanding it is established:
4 And by knowledge shall the chambers be filled with all precious and pleasant riches.

Proverbs 7:
10 And, behold, there met him a woman with the attire of a harlot, and subtil of heart.
11 (She is loud and stubborn; her feet abide not in her house:
12 Now is she without, now in the streets, and lieth in wait at every corner.)

Proverbs 31:
10 Who can find a virtuous woman? For her price is far above rubies.
11 The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil.
12 She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life.
13 She seeketh wool, and flax, and worked willingly with her hands.
14 She is like the merchants' ships; she bringeth her food from afar.
15 She rises also while it is yet night, and gives meat to her household, and a portion to her maidens.
16 She considered a field, and buyeth it: with the fruit of her hands she planted a vineyard.
17 She girdeth her loins with strength, and strengthened her arms.
18 She perceives that her merchandise is good: her candle goeth not out by night.
19 She layeth her hands to the spindle, and her hands hold the distaff.
20 She stretched out her hand to the poor; yea, she reaches forth her hands to the needy.
21 She is not afraid of the snow for her household: for all her household are clothed with scarlet.
22 She makes herself coverings of tapestry; her clothing is silk and purple.
23 Her husband is known in the gates, when he sitteth among the elders of the land.
24 She makes fine linen, and selleth it; and delivered girdles unto the merchant.
25 Strength and honor are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come.
26 She opened her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness.
27 She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness.
28 Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praised her.
29 Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellent them all.
30 Favor is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feared the LORD, she shall be praised.
31 Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates.

1 Timothy 5:
9 Let not a widow be taken into the number under threescore years old, having been the wife of one man.
10 Well reported of for good works; if she have brought up children, if she had lodged strangers, if she had washed the saints' feet, if she have relieved the afflicted, if she had diligently followed every good work.
11 But the younger widows refuse: for when they have begun to wax wanton against Christ, they will marry;
12 Having damnation, because they have cast off their first faith.
13 And withal they learn to be idle, wandering about from house to house; and not only idle, but tattlers also and busybodies, speaking things which they ought not.
14 I will therefore that the younger women marry, bear children, guide the house, give none occasion to the adversary to speak reproachfully.
15 For some are already turned aside after Satan.

Titus 2:
1 But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine:
2 That the aged men be sober, grave, temperate, sound in faith, in charity, in patience.
3 The aged women likewise, that they be in behavior as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given too much wine, teachers of good things;
4 That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children,
5 To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home [NKJV: homemakers; RSV: domestic], good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.
