Redemption Truths from the Life story of Ruth
Romans 6:14
For sin will no longer be a master over you, since you are not under Law [as slaves], but under [unmerited] grace [as recipients of God’s favor and mercy]. - Romans 6:14
Relationship we have with law and grace. Paul explains using the marriage as an example.
Romans 7:1-4
Or do you not know, brothers and sisters (for I am speaking to those who know the Law), that the Law has jurisdiction [to rule] over a person as long as he lives? For the married woman [as an example] is bound and remains bound by law to her husband while he lives; but if her husband dies, she is released and exempt from the law concerning her husband. Accordingly, she will be designated as an adulteress if she unites herself to another man while her husband is alive. But if her husband dies, she is free from the law [regarding marriage], so that she is not an adulteress if she marries another man. Therefore, my fellow believers, you too died to the Law through the [crucified] body of Christ, so that you may belong to another, to Him who was raised from the dead, in order that we may bear fruit for God. - Romans 7:1-4
We have been crucified with Christ. It's no longer we who lives in but Christ in us. He died so that we are dead to the law. We are married to Jesus who was raised from the dead that we should bear fruit with the Lord.
There is a lady called Ruth in the Bible. Ruth(Friendly and beautiful) she was from a Moabites the tribe of Moab which the Lord cursed in Deuteronomy. The Lord says they cannot enter the congregation of the Lord. She lived under the curse, she was later married to a Jewish guy called Mahalon. Mahalon and Chilion are the two sons of Naomi and elimelech. Ruth had no children married to Mahalon. Mahalon means sickness... Chilion is dying. Naomi named them after certain events Happened in her life. Chilion married to Oprah. Both of her sons died and Naomi asks the Ruth and Oprah to go back to their families and re -marry and live.
Oprah leaves and go while Ruth chooses to stay with her mother-in law. Both of them go back to Bethlehem and Ruth goes for gleening harvest (which is the Lowest task). She picks whatever harvesters drop accidently while working..
Boss of the field comes his name is Boaz ( in him is strength). He looked at Ruth and she found Favor in his sight.
He is the most wealthy man, the handsome batchelor in bethelehem.
Boaz represents Jesus.
Mortgage comes from root word mortuary or mortify which means a death deal. Book of Leviticus talks about kinsmen redeemer.
If someone is poor and his property is mortgaged then the close relative can redeem it.
Poor cannot help poor.
Jesus in the Lord's Prayer said thy will be done as it is in heaven. He means to say health in heaven so be it on earth
Joy in heaven so be it on earth
Prosperity in heaven so be it on earth
Praises in heaven so be it on earth
Worship in heaven so be it on earth
We are a replica of our heavenly Kingdom.
Ruth is poor and gleening, the only way out would be a kinsmen redeemer (close relative) who is willing to buy back her land, able or capable to pay off the debt and relative who should marry her and give her a child as she is childless.
Jesus must be willing to save us, capable of paying our debts to the Holy God, and mostly must be a human.
Just as a villan there was a closer relative than Boaz. Just like law came first than Grace.
Boaz told Ruth on that beautiful night in the harvest fields.. I want to redeem you but I cannot yet. I must allow your relative the first choice if he excercises his first choice he will marry you.
The next day at the gate where the elders are gathered, Boaz gathered 10 elders to represent the law. And the close relative came his name was never mentioned because the law has no name. Only Jesus has the name, the name above all names. So the close relative came and Jesus said "Ho, come here and tells everything of you want to buy that land you must also marry her and get her a children".
And he said no as the law cannot help to bend, the law says the Moabites cannot enter the congregation.
Ruth 4:6-9
The closest relative (redeemer) said, “I cannot redeem it for myself, because [by marrying a Moabitess] I would jeopardize my own inheritance. Take my right of redemption (purchase) yourself, because I cannot redeem it.” Now formerly in Israel this was the custom concerning redeeming and exchanging property. To confirm a transaction, a man pulled off his sandal and gave it to the other. This was the way of confirming and attesting in Israel. So, when the closest relative (redeemer) said to Boaz, “Buy it for yourself,” he pulled off his sandal [and gave it to Boaz to confirm the agreement]. Then Boaz said to the elders and to all the people, “You are witnesses this day that I have bought everything that was Elimelech’s and everything that was Chilion’s and Mahlon’s from the hand of Naomi. - Ruth 4:6-9
The light of world he stepped down into darkness.
Giving the shoe means he has no more right to walk in her life.
Even Moses under law Lord says take off your shoes but in the story of the prodigal son The Father says put shoes on my son but that guy is not as Holy as Moses but because of Jesus.
Shoes of humility have no right over you
Shoes of sickness and poverty have no right over you
Shoes of failure have no right over you
Shoes of fear, loneliness, curses have no right over you
Listen to what the Lord says
Ruth 4:9
Then Boaz said to the elders and to all the people, “You are witnesses this day that I have bought everything that was Elimelech’s and everything that was Chilion’s and Mahlon’s from the hand of Naomi. -
Elimelech means God the King. Everything that God the King gave was lost Jesus redeemed. Everything that death and diseases have taken I have redeemed for us the bride of Christ and these have no right over you.
When Boaz married Ruth they had a baby son named Obadiah and he is Father of Jesse who is the Father of David. On genealogy of Jesus Christ Lord wrote a beautiful story of Ruth.
Don't hold on to the world and the law committing spiritual adultery. There must to a point where we must stop dealing with the law and hold on to Jesus alone.
In sadness, Christ is our Joy
In Confusion, Christ is our clarity
In lackness, Christ is our provider
In Troubleness Christ is our Prince of Peace
In weakness Christ is my strength
In downfall Christ is the lifter of my head
His love for us is never changing. Every morning his grace and Favor is new. Be conscious of Jesus and be transformed in glory to glory of the same image of Christ Jesus.
As he is so are we in this world.
